An EF-1 tornado impacted Camp Ripley in Morrison County
on the night of September 8. The tornado touched down
4.5 miles southwest of Camp Ripley around 10:30 PM and
impacted Camp Ripley itself around 10:34 pm. The tornado
continued off to the northeast, crossing the Mississippi River,
before lifting around 10:40 pm for a total path length of 7.3 miles.
The tornado uprooted trees, overturned boats, and tore the roof
off of two apartment-style buildings at Camp Ripley.
No injuries or deaths were reported.
