.River stages along the Red River of the North will range from action stage at
Wahpeton to moderate flood stage at Oslo. However, there is a good deal of
uncertainty in these forecasts owing to the cold air intrusion over the next several
days that will limit runoff and possibly lower some crests.

This forecast is for a 7-day period...the highest stage indicated
  may not reflect the crest for this event.

  Forecasts are updated daily and stage values will change as new
  weather and river information is used. These river forecasts contain
  48 hours of expected precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...turn around, don`t drown...

 - Don`t travel through flooded areas!

 - Persons in the warned area need to take steps to protect life
   and property. if necessary move to a higher and safer location.

 - Persons living in the Red River Basin should monitor river
   levels while the river is in...or near...flood.

The Flood Warning continues for...
* ...Fargo...on the Red River.
* until Tuesday evening...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  8:15 PM Wednesday the stage was 21.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and during the next 7 days...Minor
  flooding is forecast.
* Minor Flood Stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river will rise to a crest near 21.6 feet sometime
  early Friday morning. The river will fall below Flood Stage Monday
  early afternoon.
* The river is forecast to crest at 21.6 on early Friday morning
  during this 7-day period.
* Impact Statement(s) - At 22.0 feet, Fargo...North Broadway bridge is
  closed.

* from late Thursday night to Wednesday March 01...or until the
  warning is cancelled.
* At  8:45 PM Wednesday the stage was 23.6 feet.
* Minor Flood Stage is 28.0 feet.
* Forecast...rise above Flood Stage by early Friday morning and
  continue to rise to near 31.0 feet by Saturday evening. The river
  will fall below Flood Stage by Tuesday mid-morning.
* The river is forecast to crest at 31.0 on Saturday evening during
  this 7-day period.
* Impact Statement(s) - At 33.0 feet, Agricultural flooding begins
  along the Red River of the North between Grand Forks (River Mile
  296) and Oslo (River Mile 271).

* ...Oslo...on the Red River.
* from Thursday evening until further notice...or until the warning
  is cancelled.
* At  8:15 PM Wednesday the stage was 19.7 feet.
* Moderate Flood Stage is 30.0 feet.
* Forecast...rise above Flood Stage by Thursday night and continue to
  rise to near 31.4 feet by Sunday early afternoon.
* The river is forecast to crest at 31.4 on Sunday early afternoon
  during this 7-day period.
* Impact Statement(s) - At 30.0 feet, Moderate Flood Stage.
* Ice jams are very common at Oslo and cannot be ruled out.
  The effect of a possible ice jam is not included in this
  forecast. Previous break-up ice jams have added 5 ft or
  more to an open-water crest. The accumulating freezing
  degree days this year are significantly lower than during
  these past break-up jams, so we may not see such severity
  this year.

  to flood.
