WEATHER SUMMARY FOR THE MIDSOUTH

AS OF 4PM...A COLD FRONT HAS PUSHED THROUGH MUCH OF THE MIDSOUTH
WITH THE ONLY EXCEPTION BEING MONROE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST
MISSISSIPPI WHERE THE TEMPERATURE REMAINS A BALMY 75 DEGREES FOR
NOW. TEMPERATURES BEHIND THE FRONT ARE IN THE MID 40S THROUGHOUTTHE
MIDSOUTH. A LINE OF POST FRONTAL SHOWERS LAG BEHIND THE FRONT AND
ARE CURRENTLY AFFECTING NORTH MISSISSIPPI AND WEST TENNESSEE. THE
SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TO TRAIL THE SLOW MOVING FRONT THROUGHOUT
THE EVENING. THE MIDSOUTH SHOULD BE RAIN FREE BY MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.

COLD AIR WILL CONTINUE TO FILTER INTO THE MIDSOUTH THROUGHOUT THE
WEEKEND WITH SOME SUB FREEZING TEMPERATURES EXPECTED FOR SOME
LOCATIONS. LOWS TONIGHT WILL MAINLY BE IN THE MID 30S. HIGHS
TOMORROW WILL BE 10 TO 15 DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE AS A COLD AIR
MASS SETTLES OVER THE REGION. THE COLDEST DAY DURING THE UPCOMING
PERIOD WILL BE SATURDAY WHEN SOME LOCATIONS WONT SEE TEMPERATURES
ABOVE 50 DEGREES. AREAS OF THE MIDSOUTH ALONG AND NEAR THE
TENNESEE RIVER HAVE THE GREATEST CHANCES OF SEEING TEMPERATURES AT
OR BELOW FREEZING SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MORNING.

WE WILL TRANSITION TO A MORE SPRING-LIKE PATTERN BEGINNING SUNDAY
AND LASTING THROUGH MOST OF NEXT WEEK WITH SEASONAL TEMPERATURES
AND SEVERAL CHANCES OF THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED.
