...Dangerously cold and fast waters across central California...

Be safe this Memorial Day weekend when outdoors. Area rivers will
continue to be cold and fast through the next several weeks.
Water temperatures are in the 40s to 50s and hypothermia is a
serious risk. Parts of some rivers including the Kings and San
Joaquin are closed to swimming at this time. Be sure to check
with local law enforcement if you are planning on swimming or
recreating near a waterway, especially this holiday weekend. If
you do go near the water, wear a life preserver and refrain from
alcohol use. Several drownings have already occurred this season,
don`t become a statistic.
