Clouds will increase tonight ahead of an approaching warm front
with a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing before Noon.
Heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast this afternoon and
evening ahead of an approaching warm front followed by a cold
front. Scattered severe thunderstorms may produce one or two
tornadoes, damaging wind gusts of at least 60 mph and or large
hail up to 1 inch in diameter. The area with the greatest risk
includes from the NYC Metro area north across the Lower Hudson
Valley and west across Northeast New Jersey.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to end with the passage of
the cold front after midnight.
High pressure approaching will provide fair weather with near
normal temperatures Saturday through the day Monday.
However, low pressure may track close enough on Monday night and
early Tuesday to spark a few showers and thunderstorms.
