A storm system will pass by the region today, spreading light
snows across Western and Central New York, before cold air in its
wake generates lake effect snow to the southeast of the lakes.
Lake effect snow will fall at its greatest rate tonight, before
weakening later in the day Thursday. A few light snow showers will
linger southeast of the lakes Thursday night, before high
pressure along with fair weather arrives for the start of the
weekend; with the fair weather and mild temperatures likely to
continue through the remainder of the holiday weekend.
