000 NOUS41 KGYX 141353 PNSGYX Public Information Statement National Weather Service Gray ME 953 AM EDT Thu July 14 2016 Service Change Notice TO: Subscribers: -Family of Services -NOAA Weather Wire Service -Emergency Managers Weather Information Network Other NWS Partners...Users and Employees FROM: Hendricus Lulofs Meterorologist In Charge Weather Forecast Office Gray ME Subject: New River Forecast and Warning Services for stream gage at Milford New Hampshire on the Souhegan River effective 1600 Coordinated Universal Time on Tuesday August 16 2016 The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Gray ME, in collaboration with the Northeast River Forecast Center, announces that the Souhegan River at Milford New Hampshire will become a River Forecast Point effective 12 Noon EDT Tuesday August 16 2016. The Souhegan River at Milford gage is located off Elm Street (Route 101) near the Wilton town line. Currently, observed stage data is the only data available for the Souhegan River at Milford. Beginning August 16, the National Weather Service will issue River Stage Forecasts for the Souhegan River at Milford once daily during normal and low flow conditions, and more frequently as conditions warrant during high water or floodings. These forecasts will be included in the Daily River and Lake Summary text product (PWMRVDGYX) produced by the National Weather Service in Gray ME between 1 and 2 PM daily. In addition, forecast hydrographs for the Souhegan River at Milford will be available on the NWS Gray web page at http://weather.gov/Gray (via the option "Rivers and Lakes") and also via the web site http://water.weather.gov. Providing river stage forecasts, and flood Warnings for the Souhegan River at Milford will contribute to the National Weather Service mission, to provide weather and water services to protect lives and property. Flood warning services are already being provided for the Souhegan River at Merrimack.
