Through 9 pm, scattered thunderstorms along the Texas and New
Mexico state line will move southeast into the far southeast Texas
Panhandle and northwest South Plains. The strongest storms will
bring brief heavy rainfall, gusty winds of 45 mph or so, and
occasional cloud to ground lightning.
