The Plains low pressure system will shift steadily northeast across the Great Lakes into Southeastern Canada. An area of deeper moisture and lift will accompany the upper level system and surface frontal boundary as it builds toward the Appalachian region through the day Tuesday. Multiple cloud layers will be in place over the Great Valley through the forecast period. Would expect that as the upper system approaches, some cross terrain flow would help to suppress some of the lower ceilings that would naturally form absent the Southern Appalachians. Therefore, tried to have lots of vfr flight weather with a strengthening southerly component to the low level flow. The best chance of deteriorating flight condition, other than possible light to possible mvfr fog formation later tonight, would be later in the day Tuesday with the frontal advance. Enough instability will be present for the possibility of some thunder as the showers move east, so kept this in the forecast for the later afternoon hours.
