A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE TO THE SOUTH OF THE AREA TODAY.
CLOUDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TODAY AS TEMPERATURES RISE TO
AROUND 30...OR INTO THE LOWER 30S.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL RIDE ALONG THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY AND
APPROACH FROM THE WEST LATE TODAY AND TONIGHT. SNOW WILL MOVE IN
FROM WEST TO EAST LATE TODAY AND TONIGHT. TEMPERATURES WILL FALL
BACK INTO THE TEENS AND 20S OVERNIGHT.

BY LATE TONIGHT...THE SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY.

THE MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE WILL BE A TREACHEROUS ONE. A MIXTURE OF
SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN IS FORECAST ALONG THE COAST...WITH
MAINLY SNOW INLAND DURING THE MORNING HOURS. A PERIOD OF HEAVY RAIN
IS POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF LONG ISLAND WHICH COULD CAUSE URBAN
FLOODING ISSUES.

ANY RAIN OR WINTRY MIX SHOULD TRANSITION BACK TO SNOW LATE MONDAY
AFTERNOON INTO MONDAY EVENING...WITH SNOWY OR ICY ROAD CONDITIONS
LIKELY FOR MUCH OF THE REGION FOR THE EVENING COMMUTE AS THE
TEMPERATURE PLUMMETS.
