Weather Summary for the local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
352 PM EDT Fri Oct 21 2016

...Heavy rain in spots tonight, followed by windy and cool weather...

A slow moving frontal zone, along with an associated low pressure
wave, will move eastward across the region overnight. The result
will be showers from time to time across much of the area. Some
locations from the metro region and to the north and west have
already received upwards of 2 inches of rain, including some
minor flooding.

By Saturday morning, the system will have moved to the east of the
region. This will not put an end to the rain chances though. Upper
level disturbances will move through the area from the northwest
during the day keeping it cloudy with occasional showers.
Temperatures will stay in the 50s in all areas as a northwest breeze

The Sunday weather will be dry and sunny, but the breezy conditions
will persist. In fact, there could be wind gusts as high as 40 mph
at times.
