Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
345 PM EDT Mon Apr 24 2017

The clouds that spread across the Region during Monday will make a
home over the area for the next 24 to 36 hours, at least. The
moisture has spread into the area from the south as an area of high
pressure moved out to sea.

These clouds are the pre-cursor to eventual rain that will spread up
the east coast tonight. This rain is part of a large storm system
sprawled across the southeast states, causing heavy rain and
flooding concerns there. As the associated low pressure area moves
north, rain will begin here in our area. It will likely be light as
it develops overnight. Heavier and steadier rain is likely to
develop later in the day Tuesday, and last Tuesday night into
Wednesday. Unsettled weather conditions will team up with below
average temperatures Tuesday, with a moderation on Wednesday as the
rain starts to taper off.

Much warmer temperatures are expected Thursday.
