Regional Weather Summary for Southeastern NY, Northeastern NJ and
Southern CT
National Weather Service New York NY
335 PM EDT THU MAY 19 2016

High pressure will build into the area tonight and remains in
control through the day on Friday. With plenty of sunshine, highs
will climb into the low to mid 70s on Friday, about normal for
this time of year.

The high then moves offshore Friday night into Saturday, allowing
an area of low pressure to approach the region from the south.
This will bring increasing clouds and a chance of rain to the
area during the day on Saturday and continuing into Sunday
morning. With the low remaining south of the area, the best
chances for steadier precipitation will be across Northeast New
Jersey, New York City, and Long Island. Temperatures during the
weekend will remain near normal, with highs in the upper 60s to
lower 70s and lows in the 50s.
