Regional Weather Summary for Southeastern NY, Northeastern NJ and
Southern CT
National Weather Service New York NY
421 AM EDT MON MAY 23 2016

A weak low off the North Carolina coast will move slowly north
today and tonight, and then drift northeast Tuesday into Tuesday
night. In addition, an upper level low also remains in the
vicinity. Conditions will start off as mostly sunny. Then the low
will bring increased cloudiness with scattered showers developing
late this morning and continuing into this evening. And isolated
thunderstorms will also be possible, mainly inland. Highs this
afternoon will reach the upper 60s across Long Island with lower
to mid 70s inland.

As the low drifts closer to the region tonight, showers will
become more numerous, especially by late tonight. Lows will be
mostly in the mid 50s across the region.

Tuesday the chances of showers and thunderstorms will remain, then
showers end Tuesday evening as the low moves northeast of the
region and high pressure begins to build. Highs Tuesday will peak
in the mid 60s to lower 70s.
