Weather Summary for the local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
357 PM EST Wed Jan 11 2017
A warm front will move through the region tonight. This will allow
for the unseasonably warm temperatures to continue. Temperatures
will generally remain nearly steady or rise a degree or two
overnight. Lows will be in the 40s region-wide, well above where
normal highs are supposed to be for this time of year. There will
also be a chance for rain tonight as the warm front moves through.
The rain will taper off late.
Unseasonably warm conditions continue for Thursday as well, with
some record highs possible in some locations as a southwesterly
flow develops. Highs will range from the middle 50s outside the
metro area, to the upper 50s to around 60 for the New York City
metro area. There is low chance for rain, but mainly during the
morning hours as the warm front lifts north and a cold front
approaches from the west.
The cold front will move through late Thursday night, and will do
so dry. Conditions become cooler for Friday, but temperatures
will still be well above normal.
