Weather Summary for the local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
435 AM EDT Wed Mar 22 2017

A much colder airmass builds in today and this will last through
Thursday with dry conditions under a mostly clear sky.
Temperatures will be well below normal. Normal highs this time of
year are in the upper 40s to lower 50s and today`s temperatures
will be in the low to upper 30s. The temperatures slightly
rebound Thursday with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

The other main feature in store today will be the increasing
winds. These will help usher in the very cold airmass. Northwest
winds of 15 to 30 mph will gust at times to 40 to 50 mph. The
winds subside tonight but will remain gusty through Thursday.

High pressure moves offshore Thursday night with an increase in
clouds ahead of an approaching warm front for Friday. Friday will
be when we see the next chance of precipitation. Early in the day
a wintry mix will be possible across the interior with otherwise
a chance of rain elsewhere for Friday.
