COLD AIR WILL CONTINUE TO FILTER INTO THE REGION THIS EVENING
BEHIND THE COLD FRONT THAT MOVED OFFSHORE EARLIER TODAY. AT THE
SAME TIME...A WAVE OF LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPING ALONG THE MID
ATLANTIC COAST WILL TRACK NORTHEAST TONIGHT INTO THE DAY ON
FRIDAY...PASSING CLOSE ENOUGH TO BRING PRECIPITATION.

WITH TEMPERATURES INITIALLY ABOVE FREEZING...PRECIPITATION WILL
BEGIN AS RAIN...AND THEN CHANGE TO SNOW FROM WEST TO EAST BY
DAYBREAK. THE HEAVIEST PRECIPITATION...AND HIGHEST SNOWFALL
TOTALS...ARE EXPECTED FROM THE NEW YORK CITY METRO AREA EAST
ACROSS LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT.

AFTER THE LOW DEPARTS FRIDAY AFTERNOON...HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD
IN FOR THE WEEKEND. TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE NEAR TO SLIGHTLY BELOW
AVERAGE ON FRIDAY...THEN NEAR TO A FEW DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE FOR
THE WEEKEND.
