Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
416 AM EST Fri Dec 8 2017

Dry conditions will persist today with high pressure in control.
However, clouds will thicken through the day as low pressure
begins to develop across the southeast coast. Below normal high
temperatures in the lower 40s are forecast.

The low pressure organizes as it begins to move up the coast
tonight and then will pass south and east of Long Island on
Saturday. Clouds will lower tonight and precipitation develops
early Saturday morning, spreading inland into the afternoon. Much
of the precipitation will be in the form of snow, with light to
moderate accumulations anticipated. Some rain may mix with the
snow at times Saturday afternoon across the South Fork of Long
Island. The snow will begin to taper off from west to east
Saturday evening.

High pressure returns along with dry conditions and continued
below normal temperatures.
