AS A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES SLOWLY EAST OF THE AREA TODAY...A
COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH FROM THE WEST ON WEDNESDAY. THE COLD FRONT
IS FORECAST TO MOVE SOUTH OF THE AREA ON THURSDAY FOLLOWED BY HIGH
PRESSURE FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY.

FOR TODAY...HUMIDITY WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE WITH NEAR NORMAL
TEMPERATURES IN THE MID AND UPPER 80S. A FEW SHOWERS OR
THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON NORTHWEST OF NEW YORK CITY.

FOR WEDNESDAY...PREPARE FOR A HOT HUMID HAZY DAY WITH TEMPERATURES
REACHING INTO THE LOWER 90S IN URBAN AREAS WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES
RISING INTO THE MID AND UPPER 90S...MAKING IT FEEL QUITE
UNCOMFORTABLE. AS THE COLD FRONT APPROACHES...THE CHANCES FOR
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE DURING THE AFTERNOON MAINLY
WEST AND NORTH OF THE CITY. THESE STORMS WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE CITY
BY EVENING AND ACROSS LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT OVERNIGHT.

THURSDAY WILL BE A DAY OF TRANSITION AS THE COLD FRONT SAGS SOUTH OF
THE REGION WITH WEATHER CONDITIONS IMPROVING NORTH TO SOUTH THURSDAY
AFTERNOON.
