Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
454 AM EDT Sun Jun 18 2017

A Bermuda High centered off the southeast coast will usher in warm
and humid conditions, with temperatures today topping out in the
mid 80s from New York City north and west. Closer to the coast,
highs will range from the upper 70s to the lower 80s. With plenty
of moisture available, there is a chance for showers and
thunderstorms this afternoon, primarily from New York City north
and west.

Widespread shower and thunderstorm activity is expected Monday
afternoon into Monday night as a cold front approaches and moves
through the area. Some of these storms may be severe, especially
north and west of New York City. In addition, storms may produce
heavy rainfall, resulting in the potential for flash flooding.
