High pressure will continue to build south and east of the region
through the day on Monday. With clear skies and light winds, low
temperatures tonight will range from the mid and upper 50s across
outlying areas, to the lower 70s in New York City.

Heat and humidity will return early this week. On Monday
temperatures should reach 85 to 90, and will be several degrees
warmer on Tuesday, with upper 80s and lower 90s inland, and mid to
upper 80s along the coast, close to 10 degrees above average for
late August.

Skies for the partial solar eclipse on Monday should be partly to
mostly sunny, with scattered high clouds drifting across, and also
some fair weather cumulus developing in the afternoon.

A few thunderstorms are possible during the day on Tuesday ahead
of an approaching cold front, with a better chance for more
widespread showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night into
Wednesday.
