Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
431 PM EST Sun Jan 21 2018

Clouds increase tonight as high pressure along the mid atlantic
coast slides offshore. Light rain, drizzle and patchy fog will
develop across the area overnight and into Monday morning. There
is a chance for a brief period of freezing rain or drizzle across
far northern interior sections early Monday morning.

On Monday a frontal system will move north of the region resulting
in low clouds and areas of drizzle. A storm system across the
midwest will then lift into the Great Lakes region Monday night
into Tuesday morning. This will allow a cold front to approach bringing
rain and gusty winds. Temperatures will average well above normal
for Monday night into Tuesday.

The cold front will move east of the region later on Tuesday.
Behind the cold front drier conditions and more seasonable
temperatures will return for the middle of the week.
