Weather Summary for the local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
418 AM EDT Tue Oct 25 2016

Gradually cooler and drier weather will be the pattern going
through Wednesday as an area of high pressure from Southern
Canada slowly builds in from the west. Northwest winds will be
gusty during the day today, helping to usher in the cooler and
drier air. Highs are expected to remain in the 50s throughout much
of the region.

For tonight, the high approaches closer, resulting in weakening
winds and clouds lowering. For the interior sections, winds will
be lighter, leading to freezing temperatures and some frost.
Elsewhere, lows will be mostly in the mid 30s to near 40.

The next chance of precipitation will arrive by early Thursday as
a frontal system approaches from the west. Some of this initially
will be in the form of snow for northwestern sections of the
region and plain rain elsewhere with plain rain for all areas in
the afternoon.
