HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST TODAY...WITH
RESULTING SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST FLOW OVER THE REGION USHERING IN A HOT
AND HUMID AIRMASS. HIGHS TODAY WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM AROUND 90
TO THE MIDDLE 90S...AND HEAT INDICES IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S WILL
BE FOUND ACROSS NEW YORK CITY AND MOST OF THE INTERIOR REGIONS OF
THE TRI-STATE. IT WILL BE WARM AND MUGGY TONIGHT...WITH LOWS 5 TO 10
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.

THURSDAY WILL BE HOT AND HUMID...BUT AROUND 5 DEGREES COOLER THAN
TODAY. A PASSING COLD FRONT WILL TRIGGER SHOWERS WITH SOME
THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THERE IS THE
POTENTIAL FOR SOME STORMS TO BE STRONG TO POSSIBLY SEVERE AND
PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL. SHOWERS WILL TAPER OFF FROM
NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST THURSDAY NIGHT AS THE COLD FRONT EXITS TO THE
EAST.

HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN ON FRIDAY...BRINGING WITH IT A NOTICEABLY
LESS HUMID AIRMASS. HOWEVER...IT WILL STILL BE HOT. HIGHS WILL STILL
RUN 5 TO 10 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...MAINLY FROM THE UPPER 80S TO
LOWER 90S.
