WEATHER SUMMARY FOR SOUTHEASTERN NY...NORTHEASTERN NJ AND
SOUTHERN CT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY
351 PM EDT WED SEP 10 2014

HIGH PRESSURE WILL RETREAT TO THE NORTHEAST TONIGHT. THIS WILL ALLOW
FOR A COLD FRONT TO APPROACH THE AREA AND FOR WINDS TO SHIFT TO A
MORE SOUTHERLY DIRECTION. AS A RESULT...TEMPERATURES WILL BE ABOVE
NORMAL...WITH CONDITIONS BECOMING MORE HUMID AS THE NIGHT
PROGRESSES. EXPECT LOWS TO RANGE FROM THE LOWER 60S IN THE OUTLYING
AREAS...TO MIDDLE AND UPPER 60S IN THE NYC METRO AREA. CONDITIONS
WILL REMAIN DRY WITH PATCHY FOG POSSIBLE.

ANY MORNING FOG WILL BURN OFF EARLY IN THE MORNING. A CONTINUED
SOUTHERLY FLOW WILL MEAN WARM TEMPERATURES FOR THIS TIME OF
YEAR...LOWER TO MIDDLE 80S. SOME UPPER 80S ARE POSSIBLE IN NORTHEAST
NJ. THERE WILL BE A CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THAT WILL
SPREAD FROM WEST TO EAST...BEGINNING MAINLY IN THE AFTERNOON
HOURS...AS THE COLD FRONT CONTINUES ITS APPROACH. SOME OF THESE
STORMS WILL BE ASSOCIATED WITH MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL.

THE COLD FRONT WILL PUSH OFFSHORE OVERNIGHT THURSDAY NIGHT. HIGH
PRESSURE WILL BUILD IN BEHIND IT...USHERING IN A DRIER...COOLER
AIRMASS FOR THE END OF THE WORK WEEK.
