Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
303 PM EDT Wed Jul 19 2017

Hot and steamy weather conditions will prevail across the Region
right through the end of the week. A classic mid Summer type weather
pattern is in place, with the Bermuda High pressure system parked
off the Mid Atlantic coast. This pattern is ripe to cause high Dew
Points and lofty temperatures. Heat index values will once again
approach the upper 90`s to near 100 degrees Thursday in the Metro
Regions. Overnight low temperatures will not fall much below the mid
to upper 70`s.

In the upper layers of the atmosphere, disturbances will quickly
move from west to east across the Northeast section of the Country.
These disturbances will help cause unsettled weather Thursday night
and once again Saturday night, helping to bring relief from the heat
and humidity.
