Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
721 AM EST Tue Dec 12 2017

Low pressure from the eastern Great Lakes tracks north of the area
today. Temperatures have already warmed enough, so any
precipitation that does fall, should be in the form of rain. With
a southerly flow temperatures will warm into the 40s inland, to
the lower 50s along the coast.

As the low pulls away tonight, a passing snow shower is possible.
Lows will drop into the 20s for much of the region with gusty
winds developing towards daybreak Wednesday as the pressure
gradient increases.

Wednesday will be cold and blustery. Wind gusts of 30-40 mph are
possible with isolated gusts above 40 mph. Temperatures are not
expected to get out of the 20s for inland areas, with highs just
at or above freezing for coastal areas.
