Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
502 AM EDT Fri Jul 14 2017

A cold front will stall south of the region today. A disturbance
will ride along this frontal boundary early this morning, allowing
for showers, with isolated thunderstorms mainly for western
sections. Some of these showers may produce brief heavy rain. With
an easterly to southeasterly flow, temperatures will be cooler
than recent days, with highs only in the lower to middle 70s
region-wide. With a moist air mass in place, patchy fog is
possible early this morning, burning off an hour or two after
daybreak.

Another cold front will move through the area tonight. A weak
area of low pressure will ride along this frontal boundary,
passing south and east of Long Island. This will continue the
chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms tonight. Conditions
should dry out late tonight as the front and low pressure push
away from the area. Lows will be in the 60s, with near 70 expected
in the New York City metro area.

Mainly dry conditions are expected for the weekend with seasonable
temperatures.
