High pressure to the west builds to the Mid Atlantic and then
off the southeastern coast today. Bermuda high pressure will then
remain in place tonight through Thursday with a southwesterly
flow. Heat and humidity will be increasing with the peak of the
heat and humidity Thursday. A few showers and thunderstorms will
be possible Wednesday afternoon well north and west of New York

Highs today will range in the mid 70s to lower 80s, with the
coolest conditions along the south shores of Long Island and
Connecticut. Lows tonight will be in the lower to mid 50s, with
mid 60s in metropolitan New York. Wednesdays highs top out at
around 90 degrees across northeastern New Jersey with mid and
upper 80s across much of the remainder of the region. Highs will
be in the lower 70s across the twin forks of Long Island and
southeastern coastal Connecticut. Temperatures Wednesday night
fall back into the mid 60s to around 70. Thursdays highs are
expected to reach the mid 80s to lower 90s.
