Weather Summary for the local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
450 AM EDT MON JUL 25 2016

A few morning showers and thunderstorms will give way to hot and
humid conditions today. Highs will be in the lower to middle 90s
for much of the Tri-State...with cooler conditions expected along
the coast. Dew points will rise into the lower and possibly even
middle 70s. These high humidity levels will make it feel more like
100 to 105 across the metro area, with upper 90s to near 100 for
much of the remainder of the area.

An approaching cold front will bring the threat for some strong
to severe thunderstorms late this afternoon into tonight...mainly
from the NYC metro and points north and west. This activity should
push offshore by midnight...with a weak cold front moving through
overnight.

Hot but noticeably less humid conditions are expected on
Tuesday as high pressure builds towards the region. Highs will
range from the lower to middle 90s for most of the region...with a
few upper 90s possible across the NYC and NJ metro.
