Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
326 PM EST Thu Feb 15 2018

The chances for light rain will increase tonight as a cold front
approaches the tri-state area. A south to southwesterly flow ahead
of the cold front will continue the above normal temperatures.
Lows tonight will range from the upper 40s to lower 50s, warmer
than what our normal highs should be for this time of year.

The cold front will then move through into Friday morning, with
Canadian high pressure building in behind it. The chances for
light rain will decrease during the morning, and mainly dry
conditions are expected by the afternoon. Clouds will be on the
decrease late in the day as well. Temperatures will not vary much
during the day, remaining steady or increasing a degree or two.
Highs will range from the upper 40s to middle 50s. Much colder air
will follow Friday night into Saturday morning.

Saturday will be dry during the day as high pressure quickly moves
over the region. It will be colder, with highs in the middle to
upper 30s. As high pushes offshore Saturday night, low pressure
will approach from the southwest and pass south and east of the
area. A period of accumulating snow is in the forecast late
Saturday night into Sunday morning.
