Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region

A cold front approaches from the west today, then crosses the Tri-
State tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will develop ahead of the
front, mainly this afternoon west of the Hudson River, then
push across the area into tonight.

Some of these storms could be strong to severe, with damaging winds,
there is also the threat for flash flooding. The timing for the
severe threat will be from late this afternoon into the evening
hours. Highs today Monday will range from the 70s along the coast,
to the middle to upper 80s across the New York City Metro and the
Lower Hudson Valley.

There could be some linger showers over mainly eastern Long Island
and Connecticut Tuesday morning, otherwise Tuesday should be dry
with a mostly sunny sky everywhere by afternoon. Highs on Tuesday
should be as warm, if not warmer than on today, around 5 degrees
above normal.

Another passing cold front could bring some isolated showers
Wednesday afternoon, with highs on Wednesday a few degrees above
