SURVEY SUMMARY: THE TORNADO DEVELOPED ABOUT 2 MILES NORTHWEST OF
ELGIN AND MOVED EAST-NORTHEAST. THE TORNADO PRODUCED SHINGLE AND
WINDOW DAMAGE TO A FEW HOUSES NORTHWEST OF ELGIN AS WELL AS
DAMAGING TREES... POWER LINES... OUTBUILDINGS AND A CAMPER. AS
THE TORNADO MOVED EAST-NORTHEAST... A MOBILE HOME WAS DESTROYED
ABOUT 2 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF ELGIN. THE LAST DAMAGE NOTED WAS
SOME ROOF DAMAGE TO A HOUSE IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF FLETCHER.

SURVEY SUMMARY: POWER LINES AND TREES WERE DAMAGED ABOUT 8 MILES
WEST-SOUTHWEST OF NINNEKAH AS THE TORNADO DEVELOPED. ONE HOUSE
RECEIVED WINDOW DAMAGE AND AT LEAST ONE OUTBUILDING WAS DESTROYED
AS THE TORNADO APPROACHED HIGHWAY 81. NUMEROUS UTILITY POLES WERE
SNAPPED ALONG HIGHWAY 81. A MOBILE HOME WAS DESTROYED AND ANOTHER
HOUSE RECEIVED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE AS THE TORNADO PASSED JUST SOUTH
AND SOUTHEAST OF NINNEKAH. THE TORNADO IS BELIEVED TO HAVE
DISSIPATED SOON AFTER DAMAGING BARNS AND UPROOTING TREES ALONG
STATE HIGHWAY 19.

EF SCALE:  THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE CLASSIFIES TORNADOES INTO
THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES.

EF0...WEAK......65 TO 85 MPH
EF1...WEAK......86 TO 110 MPH
EF2...STRONG....111 TO 135 MPH
EF3...STRONG....136 TO 165 MPH
EF4...VIOLENT...166 TO 200 MPH
EF5...VIOLENT...>200 MPH
