Low pressure is expected to track along the East Coast, resulting in periodic rain chances mainly east of I 79 for the start of the new work week. && .NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... Minor changes to hourly grids based on observations/near term models for the pre dawn update. Previous...Surface high pressure should result in dry weather today as an upper low deepens across the MS/TN Valley regions. A few more clouds are expected S of I 68 on the nrn periphery of the deepening low. Temperatures are expected to average near or a few degrees above seasonal levels. && .SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/... The low is forecast to dig toward the Southeastern CONUS before tracking up the East Coast during the first half the week. This scenario should confine rain chances initially to the I 68 corridor tonight with that area on the nrn periphery of the low. Eventual nwd progression of rain chances Mon and Tue with the area east of I 79 on the wrn periphery of the low as it tracks along the coast. Temperatures should average a few degrees above seasonal levels through the period. && .LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/... Ridging and rising heights in response to an approaching Midwestern trough should result in dry and warm weather for mid week. The flow is progged to amplify by late week as broad low pressure develops over the western CONUS. Embedded shortwaves in moist southwest flow aloft should return periodic rain chances by late week and the weekend.
