Weather Summary for the local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
356 PM EST Sat Jan 21 2017

Cloudy skies with areas of patchy dense fog will develop tonight.
Temperatures tonight will average near 15 degrees above normal. An
area of weak low pressure will pass well south and east of the
region on Sunday. This will result in cloudy skies with the chance
of light rain that will increase during the day. Light rain will
become more likely Sunday night as the winds begin to pick up late
at night.

A significant coastal storm across the southeastern states will
take shape and move northeast and impact the region late Sunday
night into Monday and Monday night. Impacts from this storm will
be strong winds, heavy rain, and minor to moderate coastal
flooding. There is also some potential for a period of
accumulating snow across the higher elevations of interior
sections. Temperatures are expected to average above normal
through Monday.
