Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the region into the
evening. Scattered severe thunderstorms may produce a couple of
tornadoes, wind gusts up to 70 mph and large hail up to 1 inch in
diameter. The area with the greatest threat includes from the NYC
Metro area north across the Lower Hudson Valley and west across
Northeast New Jersey.

The showers and thunderstorm threat will end with the passage of
the cold front late tonight.

High pressure will then build in with near normal temperatures
Saturday through the day on Monday.
