Weather Summary for Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa
National Weather Service Omaha/Valley NE
436 AM CDT Fri Jun 16 2017

It should be another hot and humid day for much of the local area as
temperatures return to the 90s for highs and dewpoint temperatures
are in the 60s and 70s. A stalled front in northern Nebraska will
limit the humidity there. This front combined with an upper level
weather disturbance will take advantage of returning deeper moisture
and cooler temperatures aloft to spawn thunderstorms, some of which
will become severe. The best focus for storms appears to be in
northeast Nebraska...then the storms spread east and south across
parts of eastern Nebraska into Iowa late this afternoon and tonight.
Large hail, damaging winds and locally heavy rain will be possible
will the storms, so plan ahead to avoid being in the path of these

Highest heat index values should be 95 to 100 this afternoon. Low
temperatures tonight will be mostly in the 60s.
