Nearly cloudless skies and a return to southerly winds helped
temperatures rise into the upper 40s to lower 50s across the Quad
State region Friday afternoon.
Poplar Bluff Missouri came in with a high of 53 degrees, while
Owensboro Kentucky reported a relatively cool 46 degrees. These
temperatures were normal to slightly above normal for this time of
Mostly clear skies continued into the early morning hours on
Saturday, with temperatures ranging from the middle upper 30s to
the upper 40s at times. The broad range in temperatures were
influenced by the strength of the southerly winds across the area
A weak weather system will move through and wash out across the
Quad State region today. The main impact of this system will be to
bring even warmer temperatures to the area this afternoon. Highs
in the lower 60s will be expected over most of the region this
An increase in clouds and a small chance of showers will move in
on Sunday. Despite the clouds, temperatures are expected to once
again rise into the lower 60s. Another cold front will push across
the area on Monday returning the temperatures back into the 50s.
By Tuesday, the last in the series of weather systems will push
through the Quad State region. This system will be the most
potent, ushering in a chance for thunderstorms and much colder
air. The colder air will drop back temperatures at or below normal
for this time of year. Dry weather conditions will also persist
for the rest of next week.
