High pressure brought clear skies and light southerly breezes to
the four state region overnight. Predawn temperatures were
generally in the mid and upper 30s.
The high pressure system will sink south toward the Gulf Coast
early this week. Southwesterly winds on the north side of this
high will combine with ample sunshine to boost afternoon
temperatures into the 60s today. Upper 60s to lower 70s can then
be expected on Tuesday. A storm system will move in from the west
Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing a good chance of rain and
isolated thunderstorms to much of the area. Drier and sharply
colder conditions will return during the day Wednesday, with most
locations back into the 30s and 40s by the end of the day.
