Showers were widespread across the Quad State Region today, with
afternoon high temperatures in the low 50s across most of the area.
Skies were overcast and winds were variable at about 5 mph.
A low pressure center will move north along the cold front, passing
near Louisville Kentucky on Wednesday morning. This low pressure
center will spread widespread rain across our region tonight and
Wednesday morning. The rain could change to snow for a brief time
before it ends on Christmas Eve.
High pressure will move east across the Ohio Valley on Christmas
Day, bringing dry conditions. Southwest winds on the back side of
the high will bring milder temperatures for Friday. Highs will be
in the mid 40s on Christmas and the lower 50s on Friday.
The weekend looks unsettled as a low pressure system moves across
the Gulf Coast states. This system may spread rain as far north as
the Lower Ohio Valley and southeast Missouri on Saturday. The rain
could mix with or change to snow Saturday night and Sunday. Highs
will be in the 40s on Saturday and in the upper 30s to lower 40s
