Many communities on Friday experienced variable cloudy skies
for much of the day. It was mostly cloudy during the morning
hours, but a nice break in the clouds occurred over portions of
southern Illinois, southeast Missouri and the Kentucky Purchase
area. But by mid afternoon clouds had returned, with sprinkles or
light rain affecting a small area of the southern Pennyrile area.
Morning lows were in the mid 50s with afternoon highs climbing
into the mid 60s to around 70 degrees.

The clouds that affected the area Friday were associated with an
upper level low pressure system located to our southeast. Until
this pressure system drifts more to the southeast, there will be a
small chance of showers, mainly over Kentucky and southwest
Indiana. By Sunday, high pressure will spread across the region
and will dominate the local weather into early next week.
Temperatures will remain slightly below normal for the next few
days but become more seasonal for much of next week.
