WEATHER SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY
300 PM CST Sun Dec 21 2014

Temperatures bottomed out in the mid 20s over the eastern half of
the region where skies cleared out last night. Clouds remained over
towards Poplar Bluff where it only went down to 36. Mostly sunny
skies were seen over areas east of the Mississippi River today while
clouds stuck around for a good chunk of Southeast MO. Light
southeast winds with 2pm temperatures into the mid to upper 40s have
resulted in a gorgeous Sunday.

A cold front will move east across the Plains on Monday. Southerly
winds ahead of this front will bring milder air to our region,
along with increasing moisture. Rain will become likely by Monday
night, and there is even a slight chance of thunderstorms late
Monday night into Tuesday over western Kentucky and southwest
Indiana. Highs will be in the 50s both Monday and Tuesday with an
unseasonably mild night in the mid to upper 40s Monday night.

A strong cold front will move east across our region on Tuesday
evening. Colder air in the wake of this front may change the rain
to snow before it ends Wednesday. Accumulating snow appears very
unlikely at this time, but it cannot be ruled out. High temperatures
will drop back into the lower 40s Christmas Eve before moderating
into the mid to upper 40s for Christmas Day as southwest winds
develop ahead of the next storm system taking shape in the Plains.
This system will drag a cold front through our area on Friday but it
appears it will be moisture starved with little measurable
precipitation expected.
