Temperatures across the Quad State Region reached the upper 60s to
about 70 degrees today, as a low pressure system and cold front
approaches the area. Shies became overcast by later in the
afternoon, and winds were southerly at about 10 mph.
Numerous showers will spread eastward late tonight into Friday, and
widespread showers will continue into Friday night and through the
weekend. A Flash Flood Watch begins Friday night and continues
through Saturday for southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois,
where the heaviest rainfall amounts are expected. Temperatures will
remain unseasonably warm today through Friday night, then
temperatures will cool to more seasonable readings, with highs in
the upper 40s and 50s for the weekend.
