After a day of sunshine and pleasant temperatures, the mercury
fell quickly into the 40s overnight. Temperatures at 3 am ranged
from the lower 40s in much of southern Illinois to the upper 40s
along the Tennessee border.
High pressure over the Appalachian Mountains today will bring
sunshine and temperatures in the 70s.
A cold front will move southeast across the Lower Ohio Valley on
Monday, accompanied by a slight chance of showers. Ahead of the
front, temperatures will reach the lower to mid 80s on Monday. The
front will be followed by a return to clear skies Tuesday
through Thursday. Highs will be mainly in the lower to middle 70s,
with lows in the mid 40s to near 50.
