It was partly to mostly cloudy across the area early this morning.
Temperatures ranged from the lower 30s where some clearing had
occurred over southern Illinois, to 40 to 45 near the Arkansas
and Tennessee state lines with Kentucky and Missouri. Winds were
light and variable, with some fog observed in a few locales as
Low pressure to our west, and a developing warm front north of
the area should result in an increasingly mild southerly flow
over the next 48 hours. It should be dry to start off the work
week as well. The mild weather will come to an abrupt end
Wednesday night, as an arctic cold front moves across the area.
In the wake of the front, wintry precipitation is forecast to
affect the area late Thursday through Friday, as upper level
disturbances move from southwest to northeast over top of the
cold air that will be in place behind the front.
