Friday was another unusually pleasant August day in the Heartland.
After some patchy dense fog and morning low temperatures in the
upper 50s, temperatures rose into the upper 70s to lower 80s by 2
PM. Daytime skies were mostly sunny with light east winds.
A chance for showers and thunderstorms creeps into southeast
Missouri tonight and spreads eastward through Saturday. The best

through the Quad State area. Prior to the frontal passage, weekend
high temperatures will remain in the low to mid 80s.
Following Sunday`s front, a high pressure system sets up for next
week and brings another mild dry week with below normal
temperatures. High temperatures will be around 80 degrees Monday and
Wednesday with lows in the 50s. A slight warm up is expected for the
end of the work week, bringing highs in the low to mid 80s.
