438 AM CST MON FEB 23 2015

TEMPERATURES ROSE INTO THE LOWER 30S ACROSS THE REGION YESTERDAY
AFTERNOON DESPITE NORTHERLY WINDS...EXCEPT FOR LOCATIONS NORTH OF
INTERSTATE 64. THIS OCCURRED AS CLOUDS THINNED QUITE A BIT OVER THE
REGION...ALLOWING ENOUGH OF THE SUN`S ENERGY TO MELT OR SUBLIMATE
SOME OF THE EXISTING ICE ON ROADS AND PARKING LOTS. CLOUDS RETURNED
IN THE EVENING AS ANOTHER DENSE AND VERY DRY ARCTIC AIRMASS
CONTINUED TO SURGE INTO THE QUAD STATE REGION ON NORTHERLY WINDS.
THE WINDS GUSTED TO WELL ABOVE 20 MPH LATE IN THE NIGHT...AND SHOULD
CONTINUE TO DO SO FOR MOST OF THIS MORNING...YIELDING WIND CHILLS AS
LOW AS ZERO TO -15 EARLY. FRIGID HIGHS TODAY WILL RANGE FROM THE MID
TEENS TO THE LOWER 20S.

THE QUAD STATE REGION WILL BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF AN ARCTIC
AIRMASS THROUGH MIDDAY TUESDAY...ALLOWING MORE SUNSHINE TO OCCUR
THAN RECENT TIMES...ESPECIALLY IN THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE REGION.
WINDS WILL TURN BACK TO THE SOUTH TUESDAY AFTERNOON AHEAD OF A WEAK
COLD FRONT. TEMPERATURES SHOULD JUMP TO ABOVE FREEZING FOR MOST OF
THE AREA BY THEN. THE FRONT WILL SWEEP THROUGH THE REGION TUESDAY
NIGHT WITH LITTLE EFFECT. THE FORECAST REMAINS DRY THROUGH MID WEEK.
