Flood Warning
National Weather Service Charleston WV
519 PM EST TUE JAN 23 2018

Morgan OH-
519 PM EST TUE JAN 23 2018

The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  An Ice Jam in...
Central Morgan County in southeastern Ohio...

* Until 515 AM EST Wednesday

* At 510 PM EST, emergency management reported flooding, due to an
ice jam along the Muskingum River, between Stockport and
McConnelsville. Flooding has been reported along Sycamore Lane,
River View Road, Hanwood Drive, and Cottonwood Drive. Ice jam
flooding can lead to quick changes in water levels as jams form
and break up. Those in the flood warning area should closely
monitor river conditions, and be prepared to take action if flood
waters encroach. Stay away from river banks due to the
unpredictable nature of ice jam flooding. In addition, do not
drive through flooded roadways. Be especially cautious if
traveling tonight on roads along the Muskingum River, as water
covered roadways can be difficult to detect.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
