Record heat seared parts of central and eastern Kansas this
afternoon including Wichita. Late afternoon temperatures ranged
from the mid to upper 90s behind a weak cold front near the
Nebraska border to between 105 and 109 degrees along the I-135
corridor from Salina to Wichita.

The weak cold front will move slowly south across Missouri and
Kansas tonight and Sunday. Isolated to widely scattered showers
and thunderstorms can be expected along and behind the front.
The main affect behind the front will be to lower temperatures
and bit and break the sizzling heat of the past several days
across much of mid-America.

Low temperatures tonight will fall into the 60s and 70s with
highs on Sunday in the 80s and 90s.
