Weather Summary for the MidSouth

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue across the
Mid-South over the next few days, with rain chances being the
greatest during the daylight hours. A few strong storms may
produce gusty winds, dangerous lightning, and localized heavy
rainfall. Hot and humid conditions are anticipated across the area
through Thursday with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s and
overnight lows in the mid 70s. Heat indices of 100 to 105 degrees
are expected across portions of the Mid-South Wednesday and

Rain chances shift south over north Mississippi and east-central
Arkansas on Friday as a weak cold front moves into the area. Drier
air will limit rain chances over west Tennessee, northeast
Arkansas, and the Bootheel. The potential for showers and
thunderstorms will increase over the weekend as the next system
approaches the Mid-South. Temperatures will remain at or just
below seasonal normals over the weekend.
