...SMOKE WILL PUSH NORTH FROM ONGOING WILDFIRE...

Smoke from the West Mims Wildfire in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge
will move northward into Friday impacting mainly Charlton and Ware
counties. Visibilities will be generally reduced to 1 to 3 miles
but may be reduced to less than 1 mile at times generally near and
just north of the wildfire. Some locations impacted the most will
be Folkston...Racepond...St George...and possibly as far north as
Waycross.

Although the general public may not be affected...children, pregnant women,
the elderly, and those that have heart or lung disease are especially
vulnerable to smoke exposure. Fine particles are respiratory
irritants, and exposures to high concentrations can cause
persistent cough, phlegm, wheezing, and difficulty breathing.
