Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

Clear skies were observed overnight as temperatures fell into the
upper 20s to lower 30s across the region. Winds were out of the
west to northwest at 8 to 12 mph.

OUTLOOK... Warm and breezy conditions are expected today with near
critical fire weather conditions anticipated. High temperatures
will climb into the lower 70s. Cooler and near average
temperatures will prevail for Monday and Tuesday with windy
conditions expected on Monday. Wednesday will be dry and very warm
with afternoon high temperatures in the upper 70s. Big changes are
in store toward weeks end as a strong cold front ushers in the
coldest air mass thus far this season. Look for highs on Thursday
in the lower 50s to near 60 degrees with temperatures falling
quickly through the afternoon. A chance of rain is in the
forecast through the afternoon with a possible change over to snow
or a rain snow mix during the evening hours mainly for the western
half of the forecast area. Low temperatures Thursday night will
fall into the middle to upper 20s. Highs on Friday will only reach
the lower to middle 40s with overnight lows on Friday falling
into the lower to middle 20s.
