Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

This afternoon the sky was clear with temperatures in the 70s to low
80s across the region. West to southwest winds were light for most
of the region. However there have been some gusts of 25 MPH. The
more continuous gusts of 25 MPH were north of the Nebraska border.
The record warm temperatures and breezy winds have led to hazardous
fire conditions for the western and northern parts of the region.
Outlook... West winds will become light and turn to the south this
evening, then gradually turn back to the west. Lows will be warmer
than last night with values in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Wednesday a cold front will move into the region and stall near the
I-70 corridor. Highs north of the front will be in the 60s. South
of the front highs will be in the low to mid 70s. Northerly winds
will be breezy around noon then gradually decline in the afternoon.
