...Temperatures Expected to Drop to Near Freezing Tonight and
early Saturday Morning...

Temperatures across much of Deep South Texas are expected to drop
into the middle 30s overnight and into Saturday morning. Areas
where snow remains on the ground, such as the swath from southern
Zapata county northeastward through Jim Hogg and Brooks counties,
and portions of the Lower Valley where temperatures never rose
above the low-mid 40s on Friday, will be most vulnerable. Some
wind-sheltered locations may briefly fall to 32 degrees for an
hour or two late tonight.

In addition, with dewpoint temperatures also remaining in the
low-to-mid 30s, frost will form on colder, elevated surfaces such
as automobiles and plants. People may want to take action in
order to protect tender outdoor vegetation and allow a few extra
minutes to clear frost from windshields.
