This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains...Rolling
Plains and the far Southern Texas Panhandle.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight
There is a slight chance of severe thunderstorms late this
afternoon and evening across most of the outlook area. The highest
potential will be along a broad north to south corridor running
from Castro County to Terry County, where isolated to scattered
storm development is expected by 5 or 6 pm. The primary threats
will be damaging wind gusts to 70 mph and large hail up to 1.5
inches in diameter. The activity may organize into a line or line
segments this evening and take the threat of severe wind gusts
farther east into the western Rolling Plains through about
midnight.

A Wind Advisory is also in effect from 1 PM to 9 PM today for all
of the outlook area. Southerly winds will increase to 25 to 35
mph with gusts to 50. A Red Flag Warning is in effect this
afternoon and early evening across the western South Plains and
southwest Texas Panhandle for critical fire weather conditions.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday
A High Wind Watch is in effect for Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM for
the far southern Texas Panhandle and northern half of the South
and Rolling Plains for expected north-northwest winds of 35-45
mph with gusts to 55 mph possible. A Fire Weather Watch is also
in effect for the southern half of the South and Rolling Plains
for Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM. Blowing dust may also reduce
severely visibilities, especially on the Caprock.

Spotter activation may be requested for late this afternoon and
evening.
