Weather Summary for the local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
340 PM EST Fri Feb 24 2017

A southerly flow will bring in low level moisture tonight. This
will result in low clouds and fog. The low clouds and fog will
spread into eastern coastal sections first, and then further
north and west late tonight. Temperatures will average 20 to 25
degrees above normal.

Clouds will linger into Saturday as the winds become more onshore.
Despite the clouds, temperatures will continue to average well
above normal with widespread 60s, and cooler 50s for eastern
coastal locations. A cold front will approach from the west during
the afternoon and will bring showers to the region. A brief
period of heavy rainfall will occur in any thunderstorms,
especially across western sections late in the day.

After the cold front moves through Saturday evening, drier and
colder air will move in on a westerly flow late Saturday night.
This will bring dry, blustery, and noticeably colder weather to
the region for late Saturday night into Sunday.
