Forecast of Solar and Geomagnetic Activity
05 December - 31 December 2016

Solar activity is expected to be at very low levels with a chance
for C-class flares and a slight chance for M-class (R1-Minor) flares
on 05-10 December and again from 24-31 December due to potential
solar activity from Region 2615. The rest of the forecast period is
expected to be at very low levels.

No proton events are expected at geosynchronous orbit.

The greater than 2 MeV electron flux at geosynchronous orbit is
expected to be normal to moderate levels with high levels likely on
05-06, 10-18, and 22-31 December due to recurrent CH HSS influence.

Geomagnetic field activity is expected to be at unsettled to active
levels on 05, 07-11, and 19-25 December with G1 (Minor) geomagnetic
storm levels likely on 08-09 and 21-22 December due to recurrent CH
HSS activity. is the U.S. government's official web portal to all federal, state and local government web resources and services.
