...NWS SURVEY TEAM FINDS TWO EF-1 TORNADOES IN EASTERN OHIO...

A National Weather Service storm survey team confirmed that two
EF-1 tornadoes, once each in Muskingum and Coshocton Counties,
occurred during the early morning hours of May 8th. The first
was confirmed in Muskingum County, with maximum winds of 100 MPH.
The second touched down in Coshocton County, with maximum winds
of 105 MPH.

This is the 21st tornado to occur in Muskingum County since 1950.
The last, an EF-1, occurred on October 16th, 2021 near
Chandersville. For Coshocton County, this is the sixth tornado
since 1950, and the first since May 31st, 1985, when two tornadoes
rated as F3 and F1 on the older Fujita Scale occurred.
