The National Weather Service in Reno has extended the

* Flood Advisory for Rapid Rises for...
  Alpine County in northern California...
El Dorado County in northern California...
  Placer County in central California...
  Sierra County in northern California...
  Nevada County in northern California...
Southern Washoe County in western Nevada...
  Douglas County in western Nevada...
Western Carson City in western Nevada...

* Until 645 PM PST

* At 426 PM PST, High flows on creeks and streams across the Lake
Tahoe Basin and western Nevada will continue this evening as
rainfall begins to diminish across over the next few hours.

* Flooding near creeks, streams, drainage ditches, urban areas and
pastures has been reported throughout the region. Water levels
will quickly recede in the creeks around the Tahoe Basin as the
rainfall ends, with high flows persisting in the lower elevations
and valley locations into this evening.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall has caused
flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets
and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
